Oiden Festival

Today was festival day (day one) in Toyota! So we suited up in our festival gear and headed down for some good times!

Too much dancing... break time!

You must be joking... you want me... to carry you?

And as you can see we weren't the only people here. The real question is ... "who's missing?"

I am too sexy for this festival... The way I wear my shirt!

Are they looking at me? ... Yeah they're looking at me... I know it!






... Excellent... everything is going according to my plans... hahahahaha!



Darn... foiled again by that big tall guy. Just when I was about to dive off the bridge into the stream below he had to go and catch me... Gotta do something about him... Oh I know... I'll wait up every night at 2 am. That'll do it!



And here is our fashion coordinator for the event. Our appreciation to only person able to make us look good in public... MOMMMY!

Potty Time!

Yes I do mean POTTY and not PARTY. But it's all the same to Fuzu.

Fuzu has started saying "pee pee" and "poo poo" and "shee shee" everytime he goes and someitmes before he goes. At nursery he has suceeded twice in making it on time, but at home we are still 0-15 (including a couple of floor clean-ups). Ahh well.

The stool on the right is so that he can get on and off himself. He has only lost his leg in the bowl one time. I figure we're doing pretty well!

End of Semester

In only 3 more days (work days) I will be done with classes and exam vigilation. That means one thing.... SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!

Since it's been averaging 37 degrees everyday, and I'm gonna love wearing shorts every day, instead of work slacks!

My first semester teaching at uni was great! I certainly learned a lot (in some cases a lot more than the students). The most important thing I learned is probably the ol' "if you assign it, you have to mark it" (which takes time), and that was something I didn't have any of.

I learned something else (perhaps unique to Japanese students), if you assign it for homework and you don't tell them it's worth part of their final grade, they won't do it. This seriously messed with some of my classes because we spent the entire class doing the prep they were supposed to have done for HW instead of doing what we were planning to do in class.

But here I am sounding like an old grumpy grump. It was great and the generally (math majors aside) really did their best in class.

Other good news is that it seems as though my employers are pleased with me. I am being pushed to apply for a full time position by one uni, and being offered more classes at the other unis. Hopefully I can find something that works well.

But for now... time to kick back and relax... a BIT!
