Here's a nice shot of some visitors from out of town, staying at our new place. A complete slideshow of the new place is not yet ready, so hang in there.

For those who don't know everyone in the picture, Itsuki's mother Sumiko, my sister Heather, and her boyfriend Steve are our houseguests.

Here’s What’s Happening!

As of today, I only have 5 days of work left! On Tuesday the 18th, at 4:30pm, I will no longer be an ALT (assistant language teacher in junior high schools). University classes await me in the 2nd week of April.

But before those exciting days come the Taylor family will be moving to a BRAND NEW CONDO!!!
Yup we’ve made the big decision to become “condo owners” instead of renters, in hopes that not only we will get some return on our investment (although difficult now in Japan’s dropping market) but also to get more space.

The new place is an extra 100 square feet larger, and on top of that has a huge (by Japanese standards) patio area right outside the living room. More details about this later! For starters the new address is

We’ll be moving in, in 3 days, Saturday March the 15th!

Packing is coming along, but I’m sure we’ll be rushing around like chickens with their heads cut off trying get enough boxes packed in time for the movers to do their stuff. Wish us luck!

In other other news, my CELTA course is now complete and I have been recommended for a Pass B (which is good, top 20% or so), but am still awaiting the final results.
