Getting Along?

No fights so far. Fuzu has been charming for the most part. He's busy either inspecting his little sister's fingers, toes, ears, and lack of teeth, or reading car books to her. He has also offered to share his entire dinasoar collections with her.

There has been just the one time... when visiting hours were over and it was time to go home.

Fuzuki: "Come on mom. Let's go home. We can visit Rio tomorrow."
Graham: "Fuzu mommy's going to stay here tonight to rest."
Fuzuki: [looks at mommy]. [looks at daddy]. [grabs mommy's hand and starts to pull].
......
10 minutes... and 3000 decibolts later... Fuzuki and Daddy are off in the car, without mommy. My ears are still ringing!

The New Bed

Making space for little sister means upgrading beds for big brother. Here is the Fuzinator with his flashy PJs and stylin' new bed, complete with Giant Leaf Umbrella!

Here She Is!!!

The proud parents...
and their new baby daughter, Itsuka Riona Taylor. If your computer can read Japanese characters then it would look like this テイラー 乙樺 リオナ.

And now for the explanation... the Kanji for "itsu" is the same as for "itsu" in Itsuki and the "ka" has the meaning of the "birch" as in the birch trees found often in Canada, especially in my childhood town of Revelstoke. The break down of the "ka" is similar to the break down of the "fuzu" in Fuzuki in that they both have an element of tree included. As for middle names, Riona has origins in "river", an element of water which matches the element of water in Fuzuki "Raine"'s middle name.

But to keep it simple, we just call her "Rio".

At the moment, Rio's favorite things include sleeping and yawning. Occasionally she will take time to look surprised or confused, but that's about it. More to come.

A New Family Member

At 3:17pm today (January 6) after more than 12 hours of labour, Fuzuki's little sister was born!

Her name is still to be decided but, her weight, 3702g and height 54 cm make her one big kid! (or so the doctors and nurses keep telling us!)

She's healthy and resting with her mom!

Pictures will follow... LATER
