Green Thumb Competition Update
Sorry to keep you waiting so long. Over the past month we've had consistant growth in all competitions, and with the exception of a 4 day holiday there are no dry spells or wilting plants to report.
At this point in time there is no clear leader in the competition. However feel free to take a look at the picture and judge for yourself. You will probably notice significant growth in both the green pepper and tomato open category.
Two days ago the insect battle begun, with the first bugs of the year appeared on our vegetables. This year we have bug spray on our side, so our chances for succes are much higher.
Stay tuned.

lookin good! yours actually filled out nicely, g. hey, a little tip, if you're having trouble with aphids or mites, or any other tiny bugs that infest everything, a good way to battle them is to mix a bit of liquid dishsoap into a spray bottle of water and spray the plants daily with it, then let sit about 10 mins, then rinse off as much as possible. the soap coats the bugs so they die, but doesn't hurt the plants. you have to do it ritually for a couple weeks to really get rid of em, but it works!
Hey GT, I'm voting for your peppers! ...go green (and other colored? peppers!!;) ..I too am discovering the riveting excitement of gardening! Yes gardening! ..and no I'm not being sarcastic - though I might sound that way - gardening is totally rad!
